AND NOW? Orientation after studying art

Galleries serve young artists as communication platforms, partners, advisors and supporters. They can generate presence, visibility and value creation.

All recently graduated artists or artists who have recently moved to NRW with a proven degree from an art academy from 2020 to 2023.

The idea arose from discussions between Team LaB K and young artists and representatives of the major art colleges and academies in North Rhine-Westphalia. Prof. Gereon Krebber offered to make the orientation area of the Düsseldorf Art Academy temporarily available in September, Prof. Nina Gerlach from the Münster Art Academy offered help with overnight accommodation and recommended the Münster model project “Art Law Clinic”. The need for orientation after studying art seemed obvious to all organizers.

We hope to be able to offer the project seminar annually in September together with our cooperation partners. We would also like to encourage all interested parties to apply for the Kunstmentorat NRW and to take part in the Mobile Academy/ MobiLaB and the qualification program. We are also happy to provide initial personal advice.

Together with our cooperation partners, especially Prof. Gereon Krebber, we thought about who would be a good contact person for the many open questions beyond the simple production of works and came up with a number of interesting people that we were able to agree on quickly.

Trust. Not to be naïve or overly trusting, but to give trust, build trust and cultivate relationships is an important guarantee for long-term developments on your own artistic path. So it's like the rest of life: without trust, everything collapses.
